We Need Reba to Help Find Reba
Reply to: comm-425256264@craigslist.orgDate: 2007-09-17, 11:49PM CDTHas anybody considered trying to contact Reba McEntire and get her involved. OK, well here goes. You can go here to send Reba a message online: h ttp://www.reba.com/contact/ (remove the space after the h in the link) Hopefully, removing the hyperlink will appease the heartless a$$holes who removed this post the first time. I assume that's why. You can also send her a letter to: Reba McEntire c/o Starstruck Entertainment 40 Music Square West Nashville, TN 37203 If the story is big enough to make the 10 o'clock news in Chicago, it might just be big enough to grab Reba McEntire's attention. Be sure to mention that Tom named Reba after his favorite singer. Seems like it would be great press for her if she was able to bring Reba home to Tom. Couldn't hurt record sales in Chicago!

You Can Help Find Reba

I'm know many of you Tom and Reba supporters have been wondering how you can contribute to the cause. Well, here's your chance. I've got a copy of a Reba flyer (pdf) and I'm working on a contact/phone list of veterinarians, veterinary clinics and animal hospitals. We need to get the flyer out to vets, etc. around the Chicagoland area. In case you haven't seen the latest update, here it is: http://www.wbbm780.com/pages/951200.php?contentType=4&contentId=921609 If the woman found Tom's number through the media coverage, then she also knows that Reba needs her medicine. We need to make sure that Chicagoland vets are aware of the situation, because this woman will eventually have to take Reba into one. If you would like to help, I will send you a few vets/clinics to contact. I was thinking no more than 10 at a time and you can always come back for more! The flyer can be emailed or printed and faxed (preferably emailed to maintain color). Please only request what you can handle. Any amount will help.

Also, does anybody have any ideas on other dog-related businesses I can build up a phone list for to send out the flyer? I was planning on including pet shops already. I figure posting the flyer any place that dog/animal lovers frequent can only increase the odds of somebody recognizing Reba.

What a WONDERFUL offer by the Anti-Cruelty Society:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-homelessdogsep19,1,4488881.story?track=rss

If a "news flash" about this offer can be added to posters (maybe just written on a label and added -if flyers are already printed up) that would be cool! The person Tom talked to last Friday claimed he couldn't properly care for her. With the promise of FREE vet care for her, plus help with food -how can this individual justify keeping a dog that isn't hers??

Kyle -
Thanks for being very active in the recovery of Reba. I noticed that some of the dog meetup groups on meetup.com are posting about Reba - but these are mainly dog lovers. However, they may be able to help with canvassing of veterinarians. Maybe pet retailers and groomers would be other potential targets. Thanks for finding the wbbm update - I was looking for it.
I'll let you know which vets I contact. Unfortunately, not all of them can be contacted via e-mail.

Hey #18,

You might also want to contact dog walking services. I used to walk dogs in the west loop, and walkers who are out with dogs tend to pay closer attention to other dogs they pass -- and they're everywhere, on foot.

I sent the article to itchmo.com, a widely read animal blog. You can find the posting here.

Some really awful person is posting on craigslist this morning that "they" reported that Reba has died. Then, most likely the same person posted that they "read it on the train this morning," but no specifics were given. No source, no link.

What a jerk.

Thanks for letting us know. I heard there was a maintenance man who goes by Tom everyday who says Reba is dead, also. He is going to be reported.
